I got my chops in Mardi GraS

During my time in New Orleans, I honed my craft in the vibrant and usually abusive world of Mardi Gras artistry.I immersed myself in the city’s rich cultural tapestry of blight and neglect, I mastered the intricacies of large-scale sculpture and parade float design; I mistakenly opened my own studio. While floundering in the encroaching brackish waters of receipts and bookkeeping I toiled with keeping a studio space and my finances above literal and figurative waters. This experience laid the foundation for my artistic journey and I became one of the industry’s most sought-after and rage-filled artists. While this piece, Ironman, is no reflection of my path, it is like so much of that industry; more meaningless fluff to be consumed alongside booze-by-the-yard, cheap plastic trash, and countless iterations of the seven deadly sins. But there is a light at the end.
